Northern Wood Terminals commenced operations as a bulk importer and distributer of timber in 1981. From its base at the port of Rowhedge in Essex , the company handled and delivered Swedish forest products throughout the UK. In 1988 the company opened a second terminal operation at the Port of Ipswich in order to handle larger vessels and in 2004 the company moved its full operations to Ipswich where it continues today.
Now, Northern Wood Terminals has developed supply lines for a wide range of timber products from relationships with both suppliers and customers over many years. Comprehensive stocks at the Port of Ipswich, together with regular liner shipping services from the Baltic’s and Sweden direct to our terminal enable the company to provide a fast and efficient delivery service in loads of mixed specifications.
The company has a strong customer base of timber merchants and agricultural merchants throughout the United Kingdom and specialises in the supply of agricultural fencing products in addition to construction timber and allied products to the softwood merchant industry., having direct access to so many producers enables the company to offer a wide product range, many of which are described in full detail within these pages.
